Phoenix looking to extend the winning streak to three against the Flyers

Cheshire Phoenix are hosting the Bristol Flyers at Cheshire Oaks Arena on Saturday 23 March in what looks like a must win for the second seed.

It will be a tough match for the Nix despite the gap in the table. Bristol have won four of the five meetings with Cheshire.

However, despite the impressive head-to-head record the Flyers recent record speaks for itself, only winning one match in their last eight - the Nix are not a team they will want to be facing next.

Last time out the Phoenix cruised to victory against the Plymouth City Patriots, winning by a whopping 22 points.

Maceo Jack and Ethan Chargois both contributed 20 plus points to that win, with Chargois also proving dominant on the boards claiming seven.

Since the Patriots game, the Phoenix had three players appear at the All-Star game, where Chargois and Aaryn Rai started, with Laquincy Rideau coming off the bench for the North side.

Rideau who has been in scintillating form was unlucky to not be a starter, and he showed why when he led the North side in scoring with 22 points - form he will be looking to keep on against the flyers.

Both teams are currently sat in the playoff spots, but it’s the Phoenix nearer the top.

Cheshire will be desperate to keep second seed, as it will give them an easier draw in the first playoff round as well as avoiding the London Lions until the finals at the very least.

Pheonix enjoy going on winning runs, as they have only lost once in their last 13 matches - form that they will be eager to replicate.

A run like that will all but guarantee the second seed for the Nix.
