Rochdale’s Heather Knight scored a mammoth 56
runs not out in England’s latest victory of their T20
series against New Zealand to hand her nation a 2-0
lead.
After the 20 overs had been played, England were the victors by 15 runs, and they have captain Knight to thank for it.
The right-handed batter followed her 63 runs up in the previous game with a stellar performance in this one, as she finished at the crease with Sarah Glenn.
England will be hoping to wrap up the series on March 24, with the third match set to begin at 12am at the Saxton Oval in Nelson, New Zealand.
Even if England take a 3-0 lead and can’t be reached by the White Ferns, they will be bolstered by the world’s number one bowler, Cheshire’s Sophie Ecclestone, for the final two contests.
After the completion of the T20 series, the two sides will meet again in a one-day international series consisting of three games from March 31.
