Women’s rugby to step back into the spotlight, as the 2024 Guinness Women’s Six Nations gets underway this weekend. England head into the competition as reigning champions
Last April England claimed their fifth consecutive Women’s Six Nations title. Middleton’s final match was the iconic Grand Slam decider against France, which set a new attendance record for a women’s rugby match in front of 58,498 fans.
England begin their Women’s Six Nations campaign with a trip to Parma, as they take on Italy in Sergio Lanfranchi Stadium.
England and Italy will close out the weekend’s action on Sunday, with Saturday’s fixtures including France vs Ireland and Wales hosting Scotland.
The theme is very much of new beginnings, many head coaches about to embark on their first Guinness Women’s Six Nations like John Mitchell of England.
The Red Roses first fixture is on the 24th of March against Italy. This fixture will provide key insights into how prepared the Red Roses are for the tournament, and what kind of form the players are in ahead of their home match at Twickenham Stadium.
